Business Insider cited leaked documents saying that in 2018, Google co-founder Larry Page spent $32 million to buy Cayo Norte Island in Puerto Rico. The island is about 1.2 million square meters in size and is the largest private island in Puerto Rico.

With this transaction, billionaire Page now owns 5 islands scattered from the South Pacific to the Caribbean Sea. Among them is Lollik Island in the US Virgin Islands, purchased in 2014 for 23 million USD.

It is unclear what he intends to use Cayo Norte for. Locals say there has been no sign of development since Page bought the island, although a few helicopters have landed.

Billionaire Page, 51, has largely kept out of the public eye since stepping down as Google's chief executive in 2019. However, he retains a key position on the board and control of the company.
