Statistics from the past week (April 4-11) showed that Hanoi recorded 212 measles cases in 30 districts, towns and cities. In 2025, the city recorded 1,665 cases and 1 death, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Measles patients were distributed by age group: 12.1% under 6 months; 15.2% from 6-8 months; 9.7% from 9-11 months; 22.1% from 1-5 years old; 14.3% from 6-10 years old, 26.6% over 10 years old.
Hanoi CDC believes that in the coming time, the number of measles cases will not show a decreasing trend, mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated in the group over 6 years old.
Last week, Hanoi also recorded 191 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease. The cumulative number in 2025 recorded 976 cases; an increase compared to the same period in 2024.
There were also 2 cases of dengue fever recorded during the week. In total, 207 cases of dengue fever were recorded in 2025.
Hanoi CDC reported that this week, the city recorded 1 case of meningococcal disease in Thanh Xuan Bac, Thanh Xuan. The case is a 3-month-old male child who has not been vaccinated against meningococcal disease. The disease started on March 29 with symptoms of high fever, fussiness, poor feeding, and was admitted to the National Children's Hospital on March 30. The cerebrospinal fluid test was positive for meningococcal bacteria. The patient's condition is currently stable.
4 cases of tetanus in adults, with a total of 9 cases recorded in 2025, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.
