On May 3, according to Mr. Truong Si Hai Trinh, Deputy Head of Information and Communication Department of the Institute of Oceanography , Nha Trang Oceanographic Museum (Khanh Hoa) recorded an impressive number of more than 27,000 visitors during the 4-day holiday of April 30 and May 1. On May 1 alone, there were more than 9,000 visitors, creating a bustling scene at the museum.

Mr. Trinh said that in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the museum had special activities with the performance of divers carrying the image of the national flag at the bottom of the aquarium. Hundreds of visitors stopped and applauded continuously at this impressive performance.
In addition, video clips of staff and visitors dancing to the tune of "Continue the story of peace" also contributed to creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere.

During the holidays, the museum’s display space is always crowded with visitors eager to admire more than 24,000 specimens of 4,000 rare marine species. In the large aquarium area, visitors have to inch closer to see the colorful sea creatures swimming.

Although there were many visitors, there was no jostling at the exhibition areas. Ms. Pham Thu Ha, a tourist from Hanoi , shared: "There were too many people but everyone was happy, giving each other space to watch. This is the first time I have seen so many strange fish species, it was worth the wait."

The exhibition areas "Presence in the East Sea" and "Marine resources, Hoang Sa - Truong Sa islands" still attract a large number of visitors. Many people spend a long time learning about the history of Vietnam's exercise of sovereignty over seas and islands.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy from Dak Lak expressed: "It's been a long time since I've been back to Nha Trang, this time I see that the museum has many innovations in the way it displays. Although crowded, it still helps visitors feel the rich beauty of the ocean and better understand Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa."
The 18-meter-long, 10-ton humpback whale skeleton is kept and preserved by the Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang for visitors to visit and study.

The Institute of Oceanography is an institute for studying marine flora and fauna in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. The Institute is one of the earliest scientific research facilities in Vietnam and is considered the largest marine research and storage facility in Southeast Asia. When visiting the Institute, visitors will see the Marine Biology Museum with over 24,000 specimens of more than 4,000 marine and freshwater species that have been collected and preserved for many years, along with live specimens kept in glass tanks.
