At around 10am on July 22, dozens of visitors to the Ky Co beach resort in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh) on the Khanh An canoe spotted a dolphin swimming. Many visitors swimming at the peninsula's beach also saw the dolphin.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dao, owner of Khanh An canoe, said that tourists on the canoe cheered and took out their phones to take pictures. People playing on the peninsula also stood close to the water's edge to watch the dolphins, some tourists who were swimming came ashore to take out their phones to record the moment.
"I was surprised to see the dolphin," said Minh Quan, a tourist from Quang Ngai . He said he had read in the newspaper that a whale had entered Quy Nhon and had hoped to see it by chance. The dolphin appeared for about 30 minutes and then swam away.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh, Vice Chairman of Nhon Ly Commune People's Committee, said that according to the natural law, whales and dolphins swim to feed in the area near the shore for a short time and then leave.
In marine activities, the locality still integrates propaganda on sea turtle, whale and dolphin conservation with vehicle owners and tourism service businesses, so people and canoe owners are aware of protecting the marine environment and keeping their distance when marine animals appear.
Recently, whales, dolphins and sea turtles have continuously appeared in the sea areas of Binh Dinh province. Previously, a whale about 10 meters long appeared in the sea area of Hoai Hai commune, Hoai Nhon town on July 16. Since the end of May, sea turtles have continuously laid eggs in Nhon Hai commune and Nhon Chau commune, Quy Nhon city.
