Vietnamese tourists tend to seek “just to sleep” vacations in 2024

Booking.com’s 2024 Travel Predictions report found that 66% of travelers in Asia Pacific said they would like to travel solely for uninterrupted sleep. This trend is particularly prevalent in China, where 83% of travelers are looking for a vacation focused entirely on sleep.

Next are Hong Kong (China), Thailand, South Korea, India with 76%, 75%, 70%, 68% respectively. Vietnam ranked 6th, equal to Singapore with 67%. Taiwan (China), Australia, Japan are at the bottom of the list with 63%, 55%, 51% respectively.

“With our increasingly hectic world, sleep is becoming a precious commodity and sleep tourism is predicted to be a popular trend as per our 2024 Travel Predictions report. With nearly 67% of Vietnamese travelers surveyed looking for a sleep-only vacation in 2024, it is easy to see the need for changes towards the quality of travelers’ rest,” said Varun Grover, Country Manager of Booking.com in Vietnam.
