Expected completion of 2 Mai Dich intersection overpasses by the end of March 2024

With a total investment of 384 billion VND, the project of 2 steel urban overpasses across Mai Dich intersection (Cau Giay district, Hanoi ) is completed, expected to contribute to solving traffic congestion in the western area of Hanoi.
After one year of construction, 14/19 items of the two steel bridge units across Mai Dich intersection have been completed, reaching over 85% of the project progress, striving to complete on March 28, 2024.
After joining the two overpass branches, construction units worked continuously through the night, urgently completing steel railings, lighting systems, asphalt concrete pavement at intersections and on the bridge, completing traffic safety systems and traffic organization...

According to the leader of Thang Long Project Management Board, the project progress is basically meeting the requirements set by the investor.
The two bridge units built are permanent bridges, with steel girder structure and reinforced concrete composite deck, clearance under the bridge is 4.75 m, clearance above the bridge is 4.75 m.
On each side of Mai Dich overpass, an urban bridge unit 7.75 m wide will be built, including one motor vehicle lane (3.5 m) and one mixed vehicle lane (3 m), the rest is a safety strip and curb.
According to the representative of contractor Tokyu Taisei, this project is located between an intersection and a busy traffic center of Hanoi.
Two bridge units running along both sides of Mai Dich overpass will serve vehicles traveling in the inner city, the old overpass section will be requisitioned to exploit the elevated expressway, ensuring vehicles can run at a speed of 80 km/h on the entire route.
The railing system on the overpass is 90% complete.

A representative of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) said that since the start of construction, the unit has proactively divided traffic from a distance to limit traffic congestion during rush hour.

The starting point of the overpass is on Pham Van Dong Street at Km19+000, the end point is at Km19+700 on Pham Hung Street (according to the route of Ring Road 3).
