Located in the Northeast of the S-shaped strip of land, Non Nuoc Cao Bang is endowed by nature with beautiful landscapes that captivate people's hearts such as: Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave, Mat Than Nuoc mountain, Thang Hen lake, Phja Oac - Phja Den eco-tourism area... This place is known as a land of outstanding people, rich in cultural and historical sediments with more than 200 relics, of which 102 relics have been ranked (including 3 special national relics, 26 national relics, 73 provincial relics), 2 national treasures, more than 2,000 unique intangible cultural heritages. Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark is a place that demonstrates the complex geological development history of the earth spanning more than 500 million years with over 130 geological heritage sites and rich and diverse limestone terrains and landscapes. The poetic and charming beauty of the "green pearl" of the border region contains an undeniable attraction, urging the souls of many travelers to come and explore and experience.
Beautiful nature, colorful culture and unique products and services help the province's tourism industry accelerate strongly, gradually affirming its position on the domestic and international tourism map. Cao Bang's mountains and rivers have become an attractive - safe - friendly destination for visitors from near and far. The tourism picture is adorned with bright colors as the number of visitors and revenue grows continuously. In 2023, tourists to Cao Bang are estimated to reach 1.9 million, exceeding 12% of the plan, up 72% over the same period in 2022, up 23% over the same period in 2019. Of which, international tourists are estimated to reach 34,000, exceeding 13.3% of the plan; domestic tourists are estimated to reach 1,866,000, exceeding 12% of the plan. Total revenue is estimated at VND 1,334 billion, exceeding the plan by 21%, up 114.5% over the same period in 2022, up 178% over the same period in 2019; room occupancy rate is estimated at 46.5%.

Promoting the heritage value of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, the province has completed and exploited 4 experiential tourism routes: the North "Journey to the origin", the West "Discovering Phja Oac - the mountain of changes", the East "Experience indigenous culture in the fairyland", the South "A time of fire and flowers". Building the Cao Bang tourism brand associated with the UNESCO Global Geopark contributes to changing the mindset and awareness of tourism, promoting the responsible participation of economic sectors, creating a strong transformation in quality and quantity in tourism and service activities.
Cao Bang aims to develop tourism types that take green nature, cultural, historical, geological and biodiversity values as the core such as: eco-tourism, resorts, community tourism, source tourism, adventure tourism... Traditional cultural spaces of the Tay people in the ancient stone village of Khuoi Ky (Trung Khanh), the Dao Tien people, Hoai Khao hamlet (Nguyen Binh), the Lo Lo Den people, Khuoi Khon hamlet (Bao Lac), the Nung An people in Phuc Sen commune (Quang Hoa)... are all attractive destinations, attracting many domestic and international tourists to visit and experience.
In addition to the main product lines, the province focuses on building and developing unique tourism types and products, imbued with national cultural identity, suitable for the market. Restore folk festivals and organize a number of new annual festivals such as: Pac Bo Origin Festival (Ha Quang), Cannon Shooting Festival, Nang Hai Festival (Quang Hoa), Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival (Trung Khanh) ...
At the same time, develop an agricultural tourism model with activities to experience strawberry gardens, black grapes, chestnuts, tea hills and native plants and flowers. Actively invest in and exploit many new and interesting tourism products such as: kayaking, SUP rowing, trekking, mountain climbing, cave exploration, paragliding... Tourism promotion is promoted through the application of digital technology platforms, social networks, digitization of tourism publications; building the Project "Digitizing tourism data, virtual reality systems, virtual explanations, 3D experiential tourism in the province, period 2022 - 2025"; effectively promoting the automatic information lookup system at the information centers of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. Thereby, striving to bring the provincial tourism industry to complete the task of "Pioneering in organizing, implementing, directing digital platforms serving tourism, digital transformation in the tourism sector".
Actively develop tourism with the provinces in the Northeast and Northwest regions; survey and evaluate the construction of the 5th experiential tourism route connecting the UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Stone Plateau (Ha Giang) - UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang. Regularly coordinate to organize large-scale tourism promotion and advertising programs with the participation of celebrities, influencers on social networks, the tourism community, young tourists, etc.
The highlight in 2023 is the series of events of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week; Ban Gioc Waterfall Festival with Then singing and Tinh lute performances by 1,000 people; "Introducing Cao Bang" Conference, Cao Bang Non Nuoc Tourism Festival in Hanoi. The event of the Pilot Operation Ceremony for tourists to cross the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China) took place on September 15, 2023, marking an important milestone, affirming the determination of the two countries to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border. This is an unprecedented model of cross-border tourism and green tourism, contributing to enhancing exchanges between the people of the two provinces/areas in particular, and the two countries of Vietnam and China in general, promoting a solid, stable, sustainable and effective neighborly relationship.
International tourism development cooperation has been focused on with many activities such as: Workshop with UNESCO Khorat Global Geopark (Thailand); Online discussion between UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark (Vietnam) and UNESCO Lac Nghiep - Phuong Son Global Geopark (China); Online forum "Let's do it" to exchange experiences in implementing activities to build and develop Geoparks... Promoting good preparation for the organization of the 8th International Conference of the UNESCO Global Geopark Network in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024 in Cao Bang.
Rich natural resources, unique culture, important border gate system and UNESCO Global Geopark title... are favorable conditions for Cao Bang to build a unique tourism brand. In particular, the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway Project promises to create a strong driving force for tourism activities, accelerate the implementation of breakthrough content to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector, and build Cao Bang into a tourism center of the midland and mountainous region of the North.
