- Lang Son is currently the locality with the largest area of Vanh Khuyen seedless persimmons in the Northeast region. With the determination to bring Vanh Khuyen persimmon products far and wide, people in the province have been actively participating in cooperatives, proactively applying digital technology in promoting and consuming products, gradually expanding the market, affirming the Vanh Khuyen Lang Son persimmon brand.
These days, people in Hoang Van Thu commune are busy harvesting Vanh Khuyen persimmons. Everyone's faces are filled with joy and excitement as this year's persimmon crop is bountiful and the price is good.

Ms. Hoang Thi Than, a member of the Na Mo Persimmon Production and Trading Cooperative, Hoang Van Thu Commune, excitedly said: My family currently has over 600 Persimmon trees, of which over 200 are being harvested. This year, the price of persimmons is slightly higher than in previous years, ranging from 16,000 to 20,000 VND/kg. Thanks to joining the Cooperative, we no longer have to struggle to find outlets for our products like before.
Every year, members also participate in training courses on applying digital technology in production and consumption, thereby improving economic efficiency and expanding the market. Therefore, in addition to selling to the Cooperative, I also sell products via Facebook and Zalo, so I have many friends, acquaintances, and customers in and outside the province - Ms. Than added.
Not only Ms. Hoang Thi Than's family, most households in Hoang Van Thu commune are intensively cultivating and earning income from Vanh Khuyen persimmons. Currently, the whole commune has 598 hectares of Vanh Khuyen persimmons, of which 467 hectares are being harvested, 67 hectares are produced according to VietGAP process. The total output is about 2,806 tons/year. The yield in the 2025 crop is estimated at 6 tons/ha, the output is estimated at over 2,800 tons, an increase of about 5-10% compared to last year.
To bring the Vanh Khuyen persimmon further into the market, the locality and the Cooperatives in the area have synchronously implemented many solutions, focusing on strengthening production and consumption links, building raw material areas that meet VietGAP standards, moving towards GlobalGAP; promoting the application of digital technology in promoting and consuming products through e-commerce platforms and social networks; building and perfecting traceability of origin, packaging, and labels; at the same time, expanding connections with businesses, supermarket systems, and agricultural product agents inside and outside the province towards exporting to potential markets.
Mr. La Thanh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Van Thu Commune, said: The Party Committee and the Commune Government determined that the development of the Vanh Khuyen persimmon tree is not only to increase people's income but also to build a brand, bringing local specialties further into the domestic and foreign markets. In recent times, the Party Committee and the Commune Government have actively supported and guided people to apply digital technology in production, promotion and consumption of products, and at the same time encouraged households to participate in sales through social networking platforms, e-commerce platforms and trade fairs. These activities have contributed to expanding consumption channels, enhancing the value and competitiveness of Vanh Khuyen persimmons.
Along with Hoang Van Thu commune, the persimmon is also widely developed in Na Sam and Diem He communes. Currently, the whole province has over 1,500 hectares of persimmon, of which about 1,100 hectares are being harvested and 580 hectares are produced according to VietGAP standards. Each year, the persimmon tree brings an estimated economic value of about 260 billion VND, contributing significantly to the development of the local agricultural economy.
Currently, Lang Son Vanh Khuyen persimmons are widely consumed in many provinces and cities such as: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen... and are gradually appearing on e-commerce platforms.
Not only has the participation of local authorities and Party committees in promoting consumption and expanding the market, recently many households and businesses selling persimmons in the communes of Hoang Van Thu, Na Sam... have also focused on investing in preservation, packaging and processing to create diverse products such as wind-dried persimmons, heat-dried persimmons, persimmon wine... to increase value and prolong shelf life. Many members of the Cooperative have also learned how to livestream sales and promote products directly to consumers.
Ms. Vuong Thi Thuong, Director of Toan Thuong Agricultural Cooperative, Na Sam Commune, said: Our Vanh Khuyen persimmon products are mainly consumed in the province and neighboring provinces. The cooperative is currently cooperating with e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and TikTok to promote and expand product consumption channels. Recently, we have actively applied digital technology in communication, introducing products on social networking platforms to bring the image of Vanh Khuyen Lang Son persimmon closer to domestic and foreign consumers. Currently, the output consumed through online channels (social networks, e-commerce platforms) accounts for about 60% of the total output, equivalent to about 6 tons per year, contributing significantly to expanding the market and increasing product value.
In the coming time, the Cooperative aims to increase the area and output of persimmons meeting VietGAP and OCOP standards, gradually bringing products to the supermarket system and agents in neighboring provinces. At the same time, the Cooperative is implementing the construction of the Toan Thuong Vanh Khuyen persimmon brand in key markets such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, moving towards completing the documents and standards to qualify for export, contributing to affirming the position and raising the level of the Vanh Khuyen persimmon brand in the domestic and international markets.
Bringing the Vanh Khuyen persimmon to the world is not only the goal of expanding the consumer market, but also the journey of building a brand for Lang Son's typical agricultural products. Taking advantage of the digital platform and the spread of social media channels, we believe that the Vanh Khuyen persimmon product will gradually go beyond the domestic scope, aiming to conquer potential foreign markets, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese agricultural products to friends around the world.
