Recently, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center has developed a plan to organize a series of films to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day (May 1), Dien Bien Phu Victory Day (May 7). In addition to animated films and documentaries, what audiences are looking forward to are feature films such as: Dao, Pho and Piano; Hong Ha Nu Si; Vang Trang Tho Tu; Day Doc Lap; Mui Co Chay; Giai Phong Sai Gon; Nguoi Linh Tam Lang; Sao Thang Tam. These films will be screened by mobile film screening teams to serve people in the districts of Dien Khanh, Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Cam Lam, Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa town, Cam Ranh city from April 30 to May 20, with a total of 48 screenings. It can be seen that some of the historical films shown in this period have been produced and released for more than a year. That partly shows the effort to shorten the time to bring historical films to the majority of the public. The method of bringing historical films through the channels of mobile film screening teams to the audience, especially the audience in remote areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas is necessary, in order to contribute to improving the level of cultural and spiritual enjoyment for the people. This method has existed for a long time and is closely associated with the stages of the history of the country's cinema.

In today's context, information technology conditions are developing explosively; social networks have become popular and indispensable to everyone; digital platforms, including movie screening platforms, are increasingly useful. These factors require changes in the way historical films are introduced, promoted and brought to audiences so that audiences, especially young audiences, can easily access historical films and historical films.
In the framework of a training course on literature and art held in Nha Trang City, Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan - President of the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association said that it is not correct to say that the audience is not interested in historical films nowadays. Because we have not paid much attention to bringing historical films to the public in a suitable way. Taking the example of the success of the film "Peach, Pho and Piano" originating from the introduction of a Tiktoker, it made the online community, especially young people, flock to the cinemas to line up to buy tickets. Or the fact that we have not yet boldly posted historical revolutionary war films on social networks like YouTube or online movie platforms like Netflix...
This opinion is even more valid when most recently, the film "Tunnels: The Sun in the Dark" won big with a revenue of more than 130 billion VND. The success of the film is first of all in terms of content, carefully invested images, realistically restored tunnel settings, vivid sound, and impressive acting of the cast. But in another aspect, the film attracts audiences because it was released at the right time when the whole country celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Before that, short clips introducing the film were flooded on many social networking sites, creating a "fever" enough to arouse curiosity and inquisitiveness of the audience. Social media communication is a method that commercial film producers have long applied, but with historical films, especially those ordered by the State, it is still quite hesitant.

To bridge the gap between young audiences and historical films, in addition to investing in improving the quality of films in terms of content, form, rhythm, storytelling language... they must be suitable for young people. In addition, we also need to pay attention to releasing historical films not only for theaters or television broadcasts, but also on social platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Netflix, Galaxy Play, VieOn to help young people access them more easily. Along with that, the activities of mobile film screening teams in localities should not be purely showing films for people to watch, but it is time to bring historical films to show to students in schools, combined with conversations, sharing film content or competitions to learn about historical figures through films, to evoke feelings and emotions in each young person. Historical films, especially those about revolutionary struggles, always promote patriotism and national pride. To make today's audiences voluntarily watch historical films, we need to bring historical films closer to the audience.
