Duc Hue Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Summary

On June 7, 2024, Duc Hue District People's Committee held a conference to review fire prevention and fighting and rescue (PCCC - CNCH) in the dry season and forest in 2024, and at the same time deploy a number of key solutions in the field of PCCC - CNCH in the coming time. According to the report of the District Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee at the conference, forest fires are still occurring frequently, with a tendency to arise in the dry season of 2024. Specifically, the number of fires from the beginning of the year until now is 50, mainly fires of cajuput trees, miscellaneous trees, and wild grass.

Regarding the damage, according to statistics, the fires caused damage to 123.5 hectares, of which 1.3 hectares were unexploited Melaleuca trees, 55.7 hectares were regenerated Melaleuca trees, the rest were mixed trees and dry grass. The cause of the fires was human impact, from carelessness to subjectivity leading to the consequences of spreading fires and large, uncontrolled fires. Although the economic damage was not large, it showed that the local fire prevention work was not really good, from prevention to handling of fires, many fires re-ignited, causing a lot of human and material resources to handle, typically the fires in Binh Hoa Nam commune, Binh Thanh, Dong Thanh town.

To clarify the causes, problems and limitations in fire prevention and fighting in the past time, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee - Nguyen Van Suon chaired the conference and asked a number of units to discuss the difficulties and limitations in fire prevention and fighting of their agencies and units.
