Duc Tho commune after merging from old units including: Duc Tho town, Tung Anh commune, Hoa Lac, Tan Dan, has an area of over 48.93km 2 , population of over 40,000 people, becoming an "open land" with the advantage of young, highly qualified labor force to meet the production and business needs of enterprises. In addition, convenient traffic infrastructure, connecting with the North - South railway, Yen Trung main station, National Highway 8A, Provincial Road 558... creates favorable conditions to attract businesses to invest and develop in the area.
Established in 2018, Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company is one of the effectively operating enterprises in Duc Tho Industrial Cluster. With 2 export packaging products, jumbo and sling - a type of "super bag" to hold large-sized goods, the enterprise is creating stable jobs for more than 420 local workers, and is also one of the units that contribute greatly to the State budget in Duc Tho commune.
Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of the Trade Union of Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company shared: “Thanks to the companionship and support of the local government, our enterprise has operated effectively over the past many years. Currently, we have 65% of our products exported, 35% consumed in the Southern provinces/cities. The unit is creating jobs for hundreds of local workers with an average income of 10 - 15 million VND. In terms of tax, every year, Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company pays more than 10 billion VND in value added tax, more than 500 million VND in corporate income tax. At the same time, personal income tax, non- agricultural tax... are also promptly implemented by the unit, fulfilling its obligations, contributing to the State budget".
In addition to actively applying modern technology and equipment to improve production and business efficiency, Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company also pays special attention to and accompanies social security activities in the area such as: supporting to overcome storm damage; responding to the month "For the poor"... Every year, the enterprise plans to support from 50 to 100 million VND to build new houses and repair houses for local workers.
Over the past years, the business community in Duc Tho commune has not only grown strongly in scale but also actively innovated, applied science and technology to improve product quality, created jobs for thousands of workers, thereby creating a driving force for sustainable development for the locality.
Mr. Tran Anh Dung - Deputy Director of Hong Duc Company Limited - a distributor of consumer goods and retail in Duc Tho commune said: "With 5 warehouses located in the area, we can distribute products to hundreds of businesses and stores in the communes of Nghi Xuan, Huong Son, Vu Quang (old)... Currently, the enterprise has more than 80 local employees with salaries from 8 - 12 million VND/month. The employees are supported to pay social insurance, enjoy full benefits, thereby actively contributing to the overall development of the enterprise".
Recently (November 20), Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) surveyed to build a Logistics center worth nearly 550 billion VND in Duc Tho commune. The construction of a green Logistics center, strongly applying information technology and automation in operations, not only contributes to socio-economic development; promoting industry, services, trade, transportation... but also contributes to solving jobs for thousands of local workers.
Not only the Logistics center, Duc Tho commune is also the "meeting place" of many large projects such as: OM12 Urban Area - Commercial Center Project with a total expected investment of 300 billion VND; 68ha industrial cluster project with an expected investment of more than 470 billion VND... Besides, projects related to tourism and cultural services such as: Phuong Thanh Dam Resort, Bai Soi Ecological Resort... are also expected to exploit the maximum potential and advantages, promote the value of relics and history, create typical products...
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Duc Tho commune, there are currently 165 enterprises, branches and representative offices operating in the area. Of which, enterprises operating in the construction sector: 46 enterprises (accounting for 28%); enterprises operating in the trade - service sector: 30 enterprises (accounting for 18.1%); enterprises operating in the agriculture, forestry and fishery, industry and credit sectors: 89 enterprises (accounting for 53.9%). Not only contributing to the socio-economic development and the State budget, enterprises also create stable jobs for over 2,700 people, with salaries ranging from 5 to 11 million VND/person/month.
Mr. Bui Ngoc Nhat - Chairman of Duc Tho Commune People's Committee shared: "The participation of companies and enterprises with diverse industries, large production scale, facilities, and modern production technology lines has brought a new look to industry, trade, and services in the area. Some enterprises have large tax payments to the budget such as: Ngoc Viet General Trading Construction Joint Stock Company; Moc Thuy Investment and Development Company Limited; Song La Construction Joint Stock Company; Viet Hai Concrete Cooperative..."
The leaders of Duc Tho commune emphasized that the locality has been actively promoting investment with many open policies such as: building clean land fund; creating a favorable investment environment; supporting administrative procedures; maintaining meetings and dialogues between businesses and investors to provide legal assistance, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles in implementing investment projects. On this basis, Duc Tho commune is determined to complete the tasks set out in the Resolution of the first Party Congress of the commune for the 2025 - 2030 term. One of the breakthrough tasks is to build Duc Tho commune into a socio-economic center of Northern Ha Tinh.
