Promote the effectiveness of economic models, creating momentum for sustainable development

These days, the orange hill of Mrs. Dau Thi Hue's family in Chua Hoi village (Truong Luu commune) is bustling with visitors. With more than 2 hectares of oranges starting to be harvested, it is expected that after deducting production costs, it will bring her family an income of over 300 million VND.

Ms. Dau Thi Hue said: “In 2018, my family boldly built a fruit tree growing model. From the initial 1 hectare, up to now, after more than 7 years of implementation, the family has expanded the area to 3 hectares of orange and grapefruit. We also apply scientific and technical advances, produce according to clean and safe processes, so the family's orange and grapefruit products are trusted by the market, bringing high economic efficiency every year, thanks to which, the family economy is increasingly improved”.

With the determination to find a sustainable economic development direction for the family, in 2020, Ms. Le Thi The (Phuong Son village) and her husband boldly implemented a model of growing Solanum procumbens on hilly land. Starting from 2 sao of experimental planting, up to now, her family has expanded to more than 2 hectares, bringing quite high and stable economic efficiency.

To create large-scale products, Ms. The continued to invest nearly 1 billion VND to build a factory and process tea bags made from Solanum procumbens. Her family also established Tien Hiep Agricultural Trade and Service Cooperative with 7 members, aiming for sustainable and long-term production and business.

Ms. Le Thi The - Deputy Director of Tien Hiep Agricultural Trade and Service Cooperative, Truong Luu Commune said: "The Cooperative's Solanum procumbens tea bag product has been recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards. Based on that favorable momentum, we continue to invest in developing a deer breeding model with a scale of 100 deer/batch, aiming to diversify products, create more jobs, and increase income for Cooperative members and local workers."

Promoting the potential and advantages of the locality and with the desire to help people increase their income, in recent times, Truong Luu commune has actively implemented many synchronous solutions, mobilizing the entire political system to participate. Along with propaganda work and technology transfer, mass organizations have also received capital entrustment, creating conditions for people to expand production and develop economic models. Thanks to that, many households have more investment opportunities, improve production efficiency and improve income in a sustainable way.

Along with producing Solanum procumbens, Tien Hiep Agricultural Trade and Service Cooperative also develops a deer breeding model with a scale of 100 deer.

Mr. Dang Van Nhan - Secretary of the Party Cell of Hong Son village said: "To contribute to raising the income criteria for people, at the same time consolidating and improving the quality of new rural criteria, in the past time, we have focused on guiding and mobilizing people to develop household economy in a diversified direction, suitable to the conditions of each family. Up to now, the whole village has formed nearly 10 economic models of livestock farming and fruit tree growing effectively."

In the process of economic development, many cooperatives, cooperative groups and households in Truong Luu commune have boldly invested in production in the direction of clean, organic and circular agriculture. These models have initially brought about clear results, creating a breakthrough in productivity, quality and improving the competitiveness of local agricultural products.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuan - Vice Chairman of Truong Luu Commune People's Committee informed: "Up to now, the whole commune has 175 economic models, of which 16 models have revenue of 1 billion VND/year or more, 20 models have revenue from 500 million VND to nearly 1 billion VND/year and 139 models have revenue from 100 to nearly 500 million VND/year. The whole commune has 3 3-star OCOP products. Economic models play an important role in improving the quality of life of the people. Currently, the average income per capita of the whole commune reaches nearly 51 million VND/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.32%".

The achievements are a clear demonstration of the strong transformation of a rural area that is striving to rise up, while affirming the role of the subject, the proactive spirit and the will to rise up of the people in building a new and advanced rural area. The economic models in Truong Luu are promoting sustainable efficiency, contributing to poverty reduction, increasing income and creating a solid foundation for sustainable development of the locality.
