On July 21, information from the Ninh Thuan Provincial Traffic Project Management Board said that the Provincial People's Committee has approved an extension of the completion time for the Van Lam - Son Hai road project connecting National Highway 1 to the coastal axis of Mui Dinh until the end of September 2024.

The Van Lam - Son Hai road project connecting National Highway 1 (QL1) with the coastal road section Phu Tho - Mui Dinh has its starting point intersecting with QL1 at Km 1570+270. The end point intersects with the coastal road at Son Hai intersection (Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan).
The project has a total length of more than 13km, with a total investment of more than 372 billion VND, passing through two communes of Phuoc Nam and Phuoc Dinh. When completed, it will connect to National Highway 1 and connect to the coastal road (section Phu Tho - Mui Dinh).
According to Giao Thong Newspaper's reporter, as of July 20, the bid packages from Mui Dinh coastal axis through Son Hai commune have completed asphalt paving connecting to Phuoc Nam and Van Lam communes.
However, the final section connecting to National Highway 1 is still under construction to soon connect the entire route.

At the section that has just been cleared, many teams are urgently constructing the roadbed, soon connecting the entire route. The contractor is urgently constructing the remaining 1km through Van Lam commune to connect the main route to the QL1 intersection.
Mr. Hoang Dai Nhat Linh, Commander of Package No. 25 (Gia Viet - Thai Son Joint Venture) said that by June, the package will officially hand over the last two households in the residential area of Van Lam commune (Thuan Nam district) to the contractor. Up to now, the package has reached 95% of its output.
"When the site was unfavorable, there were many rains, we were working overtime, the construction team withdrew the remaining 1km to make up for the progress. The contractor strives to complete the roadbed in July and construct the remaining items in September according to the adjusted schedule," said Mr. Nhat Linh.

According to the Ninh Thuan Province Traffic Project Management Board (investor), the project has completed the bidding packages from Son Hai commune to the border of Phuoc Nam commune (Thuan Nam district).
Due to the delay in handing over the land through the residential area, affecting the construction progress of the entire route, the completion time must be postponed to the end of the third quarter of 2024.
Van Lam - Son Hai Road is more than 13km long. Once put into operation, it will be a driving force to promote the transportation of goods connecting with National Highway 1, the North-South railway and the North-South expressway, forming an inter-regional traffic network and opening up a new development direction for the southern economic region of Ninh Thuan province.
