Erling Haaland was unable to play in Man City's match with Luton in round 16 of the Premier League on December 10.
The Etihad home team even had difficulty when their opponents opened the score in the first half's injury time, but they proved their class with two goals in the second half to successfully come back with a final score of 2-1.
However, coach Pep Guardiola expressed concern as his favorite student Erling Haaland is injured and it is unclear when he can return to the starting lineup.
The Norwegian striker has scored 14 goals in 15 matches for Man City, so his absence will make it difficult for The Citizens to defend the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
"Haaland has a stress reaction in the bone in his foot and after the game against Aston Villa last week he felt something was wrong. He couldn't run. I don't know how long he will be out.
It could be a few days, it could be a few weeks, we just have to wait and see what happens to him," coach Pep Guardiola expressed concern about the Norwegian striker's injury.
Many Man City fans are also worried about Erling Haaland's injury.
"Our hopes of recreating the historic treble are gone," said one fan. "The fact that Pep can't confirm when he'll be back is worrying. Let's hope Alvarez becomes the new Aguero for the team now," said another.
A third person commented: "Haaland probably wants to enjoy Christmas in Norway."
Man City have just ended a four-game winless streak after a successful comeback against Luton. The Ettihad team is still in fourth place in the Premier League table and is preparing to enter the final round of the Champions League group stage against Crvena Zvezda on December 14.
