This activity aims to continue promoting and improving the effectiveness of tourism development cooperation between 8 Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City (8 expanded Northwestern provinces including Phu Tho, Dien Bien , Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, Yen Bai), contributing to promoting and effectively exploiting the tourism potential and advantages of the localities. Gradually forming unique economic, cultural and tourism products of international and regional stature. Building a unique "Quintessence of the Northwestern" brand, rich in the identity of ethnic minorities, honoring traditional values and introducing the image of a dynamic and developing Northwestern.
The highlight of the event is the opening art program of the Northwest Quintessence Festival, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on August 29, 2025, broadcast live on Vietnam Television. In addition, there are activities such as the exhibition of cultural spaces of Northwest ethnic groups; street festivals; the exhibition of beautiful tourism photos "Colors of the Northwest"; regional culinary space; display and introduction of OCOP products and tourism. In addition, there are also folk games (tossing con, jumping bamboo poles, dancing xoe, lam vong, walking on stilts, tu lu, pounding rice cakes, playing marbles...) on the streets and the 7/5 Square area for tourists and people of Dien Bien province to experience.
Within the framework of the Festival, there will also be a Conference on Promotion, Advertising and Development of Tourism in the Northwest - Ho Chi Minh City. There will be activities to sign agreements on exchange and cooperation in tourism development between Dien Bien and the Northwest provinces and some localities in the country.
The Festival "Quintessence of the Northwest - Dien Bien 2025" is expected to be a unique cultural and tourism highlight, attracting a large number of people and domestic and international tourists, contributing to affirming the position of Dien Bien and the Northwest region on the tourism map of Vietnam.
