In April 2025, Ford officially launched the new Ford Ranger Super Duty 2025 - the most powerful and rugged version of the Ranger pickup truck line in the Australian market. Recently, the first batch of vehicles arrived in Thailand, paving the way for sales plans later this year in the Southeast Asian region. The Ranger Super Duty version is positioned higher than the regular Ranger variants, both in terms of design and performance. However, the possibility of this model being brought to the Vietnamese market is quite low due to the use of a large-capacity V6 diesel engine, leading to a high selling price. The Ranger Super Duty makes a strong impression with a series of exterior changes in off-road style. The grille is completely redesigned, with a prominent "Super Duty" logo on the hood. The front of the car becomes more aggressive with a large front bumper, a high snorkel on the A-pillar, extended wheel arches, and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels combined with specialized General Grabber off-road tires. The entire exterior design emphasizes off-road capability and superior traction – true to the vehicle’s “super duty” orientation. In contrast to the exterior makeover, the Ranger Super Duty’s interior retains most of the design from the current Ranger versions. Durable plastic materials are used instead of leather or soft-touch panels, suitable for operating in harsh terrain. The car is equipped with fabric seats, an 8-inch digital dashboard and a 12-inch vertical entertainment screen in the center. The embossed “Super Duty” lettering on the dashboard in front of the passenger seat is the only identifying detail inside the cockpit. The Ford Ranger Super Duty uses a 3.0L V6 Power Stroke diesel engine, similar to the high-end Wildtrak. Although detailed specifications have not been announced, power and torque will certainly exceed the current 250 horsepower and 600 Nm. The vehicle has 6 driving modes: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Mud/Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl, providing maximum support in difficult operating conditions. 4-wheel drive with 4A mode (automatic axle switching) is standard equipment. The fuel tank capacity has also been upgraded from 80 liters to 130 liters, combined with protective steel and shields under the engine, gearbox, and differential lock to increase durability when operating off-road. With the name "Super Duty", the load and towing capacity of this pickup model is the best in the segment. The vehicle has a total weight of 4,500 kg, trailer towing capacity of 4,500 kg and total combined towing weight of 8,000 kg. Ford also equipped a stiffer drive shaft, larger rear differential lock, increasing durability when operating under heavy loads. In particular, for the first time, the Ranger line has two new technologies: Smart Hitch: supports trailer load balancing. Onboard Scales: estimates cargo weight thanks to sensors on the suspension system... Currently, Ford has not confirmed plans to distribute the Ranger Super Duty in Vietnam. However, according to experts, the use of a large-capacity V6 diesel engine increases import costs and special consumption tax, leading to a price that is not suitable for most Vietnamese consumers.
