The semi-final match was dramatic from the start. In the 11th minute, Thailand opened the scoring when captain Tappakun's corner kick hit defender Yinglan (China) and changed direction, flying straight into the net.
However, China quickly responded with two consecutive goals from Fan Yuqiu and Cao Jiayi, taking advantage of mistakes from the Thai defense and goalkeeper. At the end of the first half, the Golden Temple team encountered difficulties when goalkeeper Sasiprapha received a direct red card.
