Nearly 1,000 athletes participate in the 1st Ha Dong Ward Sports Festival - 2025

On October 31 in Hanoi, Ha Dong ward organized the 1st Sports Festival - 2025 with the participation of nearly 1,000 athletes from blocks, residential clusters and units in the area.

Attending the event were Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; Colonel Tran Duy Hien, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of CAND Newspaper, along with leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Dong ward, units and people in Ha Dong ward.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Dong Ward, Head of the Steering Committee of the 1st Ward Sports Congress, said that this is a great festival for all cadres, party members and people of Ha Dong Ward, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, will to rise up and determination to develop comprehensively in the new period - the period of implementing the 2-level local government model, a strong transformation in the work of management, administration and serving the people in a dynamic, effective, close to the people and for the people direction.

In recent years, the movement of "All people exercising following the example of great Uncle Ho" in Ha Dong ward has developed strongly. The ward has invested in and upgraded the system of facilities, playgrounds, and outdoor exercise equipment in residential groups, encouraged the establishment of sports clubs, and created conditions for people to participate in regular exercise, contributing to improving health, spiritual life, and community cohesion.

Along with that, the ward's high-performance sports also recorded many exemplary athletes, contributing to glorifying Ha Dong sports in the journey of integration with the capital's sports and the whole country.

The program was organized solemnly and lively, clearly demonstrating discipline and high artistry.

“After implementing the two-level urban government model, Ha Dong ward has promoted the spirit of initiative and creativity, stepped up mass cultural and sports activities, considering this as one of the criteria for building a civilized, livable, united and developed ward,” Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tien, Director of the Ha Dong Ward Culture and Sports Center, said that the first Ha Dong Ward Sports Festival attracted 949 athletes to compete in 8 events, including: Chinese chess, chess, volleyball, tug of war, aerobics, badminton, table tennis and cross-country running.

Athletes will start participating from September 27 to October 14. The competitions have been deployed and managed seriously, ensuring fairness, safety and high professional quality.

The organization of the sports competitions in the program took place safely, enthusiastically, positively, and enthusiastically, clearly reflecting the development and potential of the sports movement of all classes of people in the ward. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 193 first, second, and third prizes for teams and individuals to participating groups and individuals. Collective results: First place for the entire group of grade 10; Second place for the entire group of grade 2; Third place for the entire group of grade 9.

The highlight of the Congress was the art performance by members of the ward's health club; the Thien Mon Dao martial arts association of Hanoi; and the performance by students of Ha Dong Secondary School...

At the end of the Congress, the Emulation and Reward Council of Ha Dong ward commended 15 collectives and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in organization and competition work.

The success of this Congress is not only a recognition of the efforts of the entire ward, but also an important first step in building a strong sports movement at the grassroots level, actively contributing to the success of the 11th Capital Sports Congress in 2025.
