Nearly 1.17 million candidates have registered to take the 2025 high school graduation exam.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, as of 5 p.m. on April 28, 1,165,289 candidates had registered to take the 2025 high school graduation exam on the system. This number increased by about 95,000 compared to last year.

Candidates nationwide have registered to take the high school graduation exam online since April 21. At 5:00 p.m. on April 28, the Ministry of Education and Training's system locked the exam registration function.

According to statistics, as of 5:00 p.m. on April 28, the total number of candidates registered for the exam was 1,165,289.

Of which, candidates of 12 GeneralEducation Programs 2018 are 1,122,507 (accounting for 96.33%); independent candidates are 42,782 (accounting for 3.67%).

Regarding the group of independent candidates, the number of independent candidates of the 2018 General Education Program is 16,072 (accounting for 1.38%), the number of independent candidates of the 2006 General Education Program is 26,711 (accounting for 2.29%).

The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place from June 25 to 28. The Ministry of Education and Training has announced a detailed exam schedule for candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program as well as candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Regarding the organization of the exam for candidates taking the exam with the exam questions of the 2006 General Education Program, based on the number of candidates registering for the exam, the Departments of Education and Training will arrange a number of exam locations specifically for candidates. Candidates can register for the exam, register for graduation recognition directly or online.

For candidates taking the exam according to the current General Education Program, they must declare on the software complete and correct information with evidence to enjoy priority in university and college admission according to regulations and instructions. The arrangement of exam rooms is carried out according to the following principles for the optional exam session: in each exam room, each subject only opens the exam paper once; when the exam paper of a subject is opened, candidates who have registered to take that subject must simultaneously take that subject.

In the marking stage, for essay tests, immediately after marking, the Head of the Marking Committee/Head of the Marking Group for each round sets a password to lock the marking data and directly preserves the password. The Head of the Marking Group organizes for the Examiners to directly draw lots to hand over the test bags or for the Heads of the Marking Groups to draw lots for a number of test bags for the entire Marking Group, then the Head of the Marking Group organizes a draw to hand over the test bags to the Examiners of the Marking Group under his/her management. Do not finish marking all the test papers in round 1 before organizing round 2 marking.

For multiple-choice tests, the Examination Council shall arrange a sufficient number of image scanners. The internal computer network shall only be allowed to connect devices serving the examination (servers, switches and workstations) and shall be isolated in the examination room to ensure that there are no wireless network signal transmitting/receiving devices in the examination room.

Computer configuration, software installation instructions, and software usage instructions are carried out according to the multiple-choice test scoring instructions issued by the Department of Quality Management.

For the Computer Science subject, in the form of True/False multiple choice questions, in addition to the 2 questions for all candidates, candidates must choose either 2 questions in the Computer Science direction or 2 questions in the Applied Computer Science direction. Candidates who choose one direction cannot do the questions of the other direction. In case candidates do both directions, they will not be scored for these questions.

It is expected that at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, the Departments of Education and Training will announce the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

No later than July 18, high schools will consider recognizing high school graduation for students.
