Nearly 70,000 milk boxes were given to disadvantaged children, starting a meaningful "Children's Month"

On the occasion of International Children's Day, June 1, Vinamilk joined the program to launch the Month of Action for Children organized by the Ministry of Health in Phu Tho and gave milk to disadvantaged children in Ben Tre province. These are the initial activities for the "Month of Children" that Vinamilk will carry out in many provinces and cities, aiming to take care of nutritional health and bring more joy to children.

Meaningful start of "Month of Action for Children"

On May 31, on the occasion of International Children's Day, the Ministry of Health organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children in Phu Tho with the message "Prioritizing resources to achieve goals for children". The ceremony was attended by more than 300 children, aiming to promote the movement of the whole people to care for, educate and protect children. During the program, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund donated 41,000 milk boxes, equivalent to 300 million VND, to help improve nutrition and health for disadvantaged children in the province.

Mr. Tran Dang Khoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Mothers and Children, Ministry of Health said: "We all know that nutrition plays an important role in children's development. During the period from 0 to 8 years old, nutrition plays a particularly important role in physical, mental and motor development, helping children to have good stature, physical strength and intelligence later on. Therefore, we highly appreciate nutrition programs for children".

On this occasion, leaders of the Ministry of Health, representatives of agencies and Vinamilk also visited and presented nutritional gifts to children being treated at Phu Tho Provincial Maternity and Pediatric Hospital and SOS Children's Village Viet Tri - beneficiaries of milk from Vinamilk's Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund program. Here, leaders of the Ministry of Health, Vinamilk and accompanying units directly presented gifts and sent words of encouragement to the children as well as the "mothers" - those who are taking care of and raising them day and night like their own children.

The delegation visited and gave gifts to "mothers" and more than 100 orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances at SOS Children's Village Viet Tri.

“We believe that after this benefit, the physical condition of the children at the center will improve. Hopefully, not only at SOS Children's Village Viet Tri, Vinamilk will continue to bring this source of nutritious milk to many children in difficult circumstances across the country,” said Mr. Le Xuan Tung - Director of SOS Children's Village Viet Tri (Phu Tho).

"Join hands to light up dreams"

That is the message Vinamilk wishes to spread when accompanying the program "Lighting up dreams" organized by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in coordination with Ben Tre province on May 31, aiming at special events in June. Accordingly, Vinamilk brought gifts and milk to nearly 400 children and 100 people from families with revolutionary contributions and families in difficult circumstances in the locality.

More than just gifts, the joy of children is being able to express their talents, speak their thoughts and dreams, and receive encouragement, care and love from the community.

The company representative also visited and encouraged children in special circumstances who are being cared for and educated at SOS Children's Village Ben Tre. Mr. Do Thanh Tuan - Director of External Relations of Vinamilk shared: "The Month of Action for Children is an opportunity for us to look back at the responsibility and role of the whole society in caring for the future generation. And not only on this occasion, Vinamilk has been and will always strive with child care activities, steadfast in its mission: so that all children have equal access to nutritional products of the best quality".

Sharing at the event, Ms. Le Tuyet Mai - Vice President of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights said: "We highly appreciate the sense of responsibility and support of the units, especially Vinamilk - a business that has always accompanied the work of taking care of children's health, especially nutritional health, for many years. Vinamilk's source of fresh, nutritious milk has helped children grow in height, weight, health and study better", Ms. Mai said.

In addition to the programs in Phu Tho or Ben Tre, during this year's Action Month for Children, Vinamilk was also present in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Bac Kan... with a total of nearly 70,000 boxes of milk donated, bringing joy to thousands of children.

Representing the students participating in this support, Dang Lu Thuy An - Grade 9 student of My Hoa Secondary School (Ben Tre City) shared: "For us, this is a great joy, timely encouragement, motivation, and creating conditions for us to be more confident when entering the new school year. We promise to try to overcome difficulties in studying, training and developing ourselves for a better future."

Not only the programs associated with children that have been persistently implemented for nearly 2 decades such as School Milk or the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund, Vinamilk has always been a leading enterprise in movements and activities to care for children's nutritional health nationwide. Typically, it actively accompanies young talents in international playgrounds such as Robotacon; nearly 30 years of joining hands to support surgeries for children with congenital heart and eye diseases; regularly organizes many nutritional examinations for children... Recently, Vinamilk has also accompanied thousands of children at the Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and the 10th National Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress. Vinamilk will continue to carry out activities with children in June, opening a vibrant summer for tens of millions of students nationwide.
