Nearly 700 people participate in the Red Journey program in 2025

The program attracted nearly 700 participants, with about 600 units of donated blood collected. This is the 12th year Khanh Hoa province has participated in the Red Journey program. The Red Journey program was launched in 2013, chaired by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, in coordination with the Office of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, VTVCorp Joint Stock Company, Hematology and Blood Transfusion Centers, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, and the Red Cross Associations of several provinces and cities. The program's goal is to ensure blood supply for emergency and treatment during the summer.

To date, the program has attracted 59 localities to participate, becoming the largest blood donation campaign in the country. Through 12 times of organization (2013 - 2024), the Red Journey program has attracted millions of participants; organized 3,104 blood donation points, receiving nearly 940,000 donated blood units. In 2025 alone, 48 provinces and cities will participate in the program, expected to collect 100,000 donated blood units.

Since the beginning of the year, the province has organized 38 campaigns to promote and mobilize voluntary blood donation with more than 15,000 participants, collecting more than 12,760 units of donated blood (worth more than VND 2.9 billion), reaching 50.1% of the annual plan target. Currently, the rate of people in the province participating in voluntary blood donation is 1.5%; the rate of first-time blood donors is 49%, the rate of repeat blood donors (2 times or more) is 51%; the rate of using voluntary donated blood is 100%...
