Dien Bien TV - On the morning of April 19, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Attending the meeting were comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; former leaders of the province through the periods; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province, along with 262 delegates who are Veterans, Former Youth Volunteers, and Former People's Police who directly participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

50 years ago, on April 30, 1975, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , together with the resilient and brave fighting spirit and ardent patriotism of our army and people, we contributed to the historic Great Spring Victory, ending the resistance war against the US to save the country, bringing the country back together. Promoting the heroic tradition of Dien Bien Phu with the spirit of "All for the frontline, all to defeat the American invaders", the people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, together with the people of the whole country, contributed human and material resources to the resistance war.

Among the more than 260 delegates who were Veterans, Former Youth Volunteers, Former People's Police, and frontline workers who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, most of them were over 80 years old. Although their health was not as good as before, everyone was excited and proud to be part of such a meaningful program.
Veteran Nguyen Van Hong, Thanh Hung commune, Dien Bien district, emotionally said: “We are so moved that we cannot express it in words when recalling and reminiscing about our comrades who could not attend today. The comrades who are still here are very happy and excited. We feel that we still have a responsibility to our children and grandchildren, to the next generation.”

At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong affirmed: The achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province have achieved throughout history have had the active contributions of veterans and youth volunteers; contributing to great achievements in the renovation process to bring our country to new heights.
The Provincial Party Secretary suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to promote propaganda work to arouse patriotism; at the same time, strongly promote the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" to achieve many new achievements.
