Meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the City Border Guard's tradition day

On the morning of April 4, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city's Border Guard tradition day (April 5, 1975 - April 5, 2025). Attending were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh; Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang; Major General Tran Ngoc Huu, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard.

During the war, the armed security forces of Quang Nam - Da Nang excellently completed the task of protecting the border and coast; protecting the revolutionary base, the base of the Regional Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, protecting the corridor, transporting cadres to operate in the enemy-occupied area; sticking to the land and people, building revolutionary bases, contributing with the Party Committee and people of Quang Nam - Da Nang to directly participate in the historic General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975 and unifying the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasized that, born from a land rich in revolutionary traditions, from the Armed Security Department - People's Armed Police, the City Border Guard today has achieved many outstanding feats, worthy of being a sharp tool to manage and protect territorial sovereignty , national border security, protect the Party, the State and the peaceful life of the people.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Party Committee and the City Border Guard Command to continue to proactively coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, organizations, forces, and localities in border areas to effectively perform the three functions of national defense, security, and foreign affairs. Especially, effectively implement the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (13th tenure) on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

On this occasion, 01 individual was awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal by the President and 10 individuals were awarded the Victory Flag Medal; the Party Committee and the City Border Guard Command were awarded certificates of merit by the Minister of National Defense and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; 15 collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
