Domestic and world silver prices continued to fall due to technical profit-taking adjustments.
Domestic market
Silver price today at Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group, silver price continues to decrease, listed at 1,440,000 VND/tael (buy) and 1,485,000 VND/tael (sell) in Hanoi .
In addition, according to a survey at other trading locations in Hanoi, domestic silver prices have dropped sharply in both buying and selling directions, currently listed at VND 1,181,000/tael (buy) and VND 1,215,000/tael (sell).
In Ho Chi Minh City, silver prices also decreased, currently at 1,183,000 VND/tael (buy) and 1,220,000 VND/tael (sell).
World silver prices reversed and decreased in both buying and selling directions, currently at 987,000 VND/ounce (buy) and 993,000 VND/ounce (sell).
World market
On the world market, silver price is listed at 38 USD/ounce.
The white metal is getting support from the same fundamentals that have pushed gold higher: a weaker U.S. dollar and falling Treasury yields reduce the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding precious metals, according to market analyst James Hyerczyk.
The consumer price index (CPI) rose the most in five months in June, with tariff-related inflation pushing up the cost of core goods, James Hyerczyk said, as markets eased expectations of further easing by the US Federal Reserve.
