Latest coffee price news today 6/16/2025
Last week, the domestic coffee market recorded a decrease of 1,500 to 1,700 VND/kg compared to the previous week, however the rate of decrease has slowed down.
Analysts say the decline in coffee prices is mainly due to seasonality, as Brazil and some South American countries enter their peak harvest season. Meanwhile, Vietnam and other Asian countries will not enter their harvest season until the end of the year, so they are less affected by global supply in the short term.
Experts advise farmers not to sell in bulk at this time. Dividing the quantity of goods and selling them at different times will help minimize the risk of sudden price drops. At the same time, exporting enterprises are advised to quickly finalize the prices of contracts for the third quarter to protect profits.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 823,908 tons, equivalent to more than 4.7 billion USD. Compared to the same period in 2024, the volume increased slightly by 0.8%, while the turnover increased by 65.7%. The average export price of coffee reached a record 5,709.5 USD/ton.
According to USDA forecasts, Brazil’s coffee output in the 2025/2026 crop year could reach 65 million bags, up slightly by 0.5% compared to the previous crop. Of which, Robusta output will increase by 15%, while Arabica will decrease by 6.4%. With a transparent production and control system, Brazil is considered the country with the best potential to adapt in the context of Europe tightening regulations on traceability and deforestation prevention.
