At the end of the trading session early this morning (April 30) on the London - UK floor, Robusta coffee prices fell across the board from 110 - 115 USD/ton after reaching a peak of 111 USD/ton, but then plummeted.

Specifically, the terms are as follows:

July 2025 to 5298 USD/ton, down 115 USD/ton.

September 2025 to 5251 USD/ton, down 114 USD/ton.

November 2025 to 5188 USD/ton, down 112 USD/ton.

January 2026 to 5,102 USD/ton, down 110 USD/ton.

Arabica coffee also performed similarly. The July 2025 delivery period decreased by 180 USD/ton to 8,860 USD/ton.

The latest domestic coffee price is at 130,800 VND/kg and is expected to lose the 130,000 VND/kg mark today due to the impact of world prices.

Brazil's coffee harvest begins at the end of April with the Conilon (Brazilian Robusta) variety and Arabica in July.

International media quoted a report by Rabobank (Netherlands) predicting that Brazil's coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year will decrease by 6.4% to 62.8 million bags, equivalent to 3.768 million tons.

Meanwhile, Arabica is expected to have a crop failure with a 13.6% loss in output, to 38 million bags, equivalent to 2.28 million tons.

In contrast, Brazil’s Robusta is forecast to hit a record production increase of 7.3%, with 1.482 million tons. With this output, Brazil is close to Vietnam’s level, but most of this output is used domestically, with little export.

The main reason is that Conilon is easier to grow than Arabica, as Brazil's traditional coffee variety has been severely affected by climate change. The world's number one coffee producer and exporter is looking to improve its coffee varieties to adapt to climate change.
