Gia Lai Newspaper won 4 awards at the 2nd Central Highlands Press Award 2025

(GLO)- On the morning of May 30, in Bao Loc City (Lam Dong Province), the Vietnam Journalists Association in coordination with the Lam Dong Provincial Journalists Association organized the 2nd Central Highlands Press Awards 2025.

Attending the award ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnam Journalists Association , there were Journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, Head of the Steering Committee of the Central Highlands Press Award; Mr. Phan Toan Thang - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chief of Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Award Organizing Committee.

On behalf of Lam Dong province leaders, there were Mr. K'Mák - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council; Do Thi Que Phuong - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province; representatives of leaders of Journalists Association, newspapers and radio stations in the Central Highlands region; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; representatives of sponsoring units and award-winning authors and author groups.

The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Central Highlands Press Awards received 180 entries in 4 types of journalism from journalists, reporters, members, and resident reporters working at the Journalists Association and press agencies of 5 Central Highlands provinces: Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak , Dak Nong, and Lam Dong.

The Preliminary Council selected 80 best works for the final round. As a result, the Final Council selected 22 winning works including 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. Of which, Gia Lai Newspaper was honored to win 4 prizes, specifically: The 5-part series "Greening the Central Highlands battlefield" by the group of authors Nguyen Vinh Hoang, Nguyen Quang Tan, Rcom H'Tuyet won second prize in the Print Newspaper - Electronic Newspaper category.

In the radio-television category, Gia Lai Newspaper had 3 award-winning works, specifically: the work "MV Thu ca va nhung nguoi tre muon xa" by the group of authors Nguyen Huu Hoa Giang, Tran Tran Bao Ngoc, Nguyen Thi Hai Ha, Nguyen Vo Tung Lam won first prize; the television reportage work "The truth after the border crossing trips" by the group of authors Pham Hong Son, Tran Thi Thuy Trinh, Nong Van Hoa, Doan Ngoc Binh won third prize; the 3-part radio reportage work "Hoi ru tang" by author Doan Ngoc Binh won consolation prize.

According to the evaluation of the Organizing Committee and the Jury, this year, electronic newspaper works have clearly shown the mark of digital transformation in press agencies as well as in the work of journalists. With the advantage of multimedia, electronic newspaper works and works on digital platforms reflect more vividly than printed newspapers and only give way to printed newspapers in the genres of commentary and argumentation.

In addition, the works winning the Central Highlands Press Award this year represent the innovation and development of regional journalism; demonstrating the positive contributions of journalists in reflecting and orienting public opinion, while also fulfilling the political tasks of each press agency in the region.

On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 25 scholarships to support poor students in Bao Loc City (Lam Dong Province) and Vietnam Traffic Safety Association awarded 100 helmets to the winning authors.
