The International Coffee Organization (ICO) said global coffee exports in April reached 11.43 million bags, down 5.5% year-on-year. In the first seven months of the 2024–2025 crop year, global coffee exports reached 78.51 million bags, down 3.5% year-on-year.

In Ethiopia, coffee production in 2025–26 is forecast at 11.6 million bags, according to a report from the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). This is due to favorable weather conditions, improved yields through replacement plantings, and adoption of new high-yielding varieties.
