Similarly, coffee prices in Dak Lak province are at VND96,300/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Coffee price today 7/7/2025: Regaining momentum

At the end of last week, coffee prices in the Central Highlands increased by 1,800 to 2,200 VND/kg compared to the previous week. After two months of continuous decline, the domestic coffee market is showing signs of positive recovery. Specifically, coffee prices in Dak Nong increased by 2,200 VND/kg. In Dak Lak and Gia Lai, coffee prices increased by 2,100 and 2,200 VND/kg, respectively. In Lam Dong, it increased by 1,900 VND/kg compared to the previous week.

However, the fact that domestic coffee prices are higher than world prices is making export activities difficult due to the inability to match prices. This phenomenon has occurred frequently in recent years. This shows that the quality of Vietnamese coffee is at a high level, but also poses a challenge to competitiveness in the context of a difficult global economy and buyers prioritizing low prices.

A notable development last week was the issue of import taxes into the US market. The Trump administration reached a tariff agreement with Vietnam as follows: basic tax from 5-10%, plus 10% additional tax, total tax ranging from 15-20%.

Although this is not a low tax rate, it does not have a big impact on coffee products. If businesses are well prepared and can prove 100% Vietnamese origin, they can still enjoy a preferential tax rate of only 10%.

World coffee prices today

In the world market, coffee prices last week had mixed movements between the two main types, robusta and arabica. While robusta coffee prices increased slightly, arabica prices fell sharply.

Specifically, on the London floor, the price of robusta coffee for September 2025 delivery ended the week at $3,677/ton, up $16/ton from the previous week. The November 2025 contract also increased by $24, reaching $3,617/ton.

In contrast, Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor fell sharply. The September 2025 contract fell 4.7% to 289.6 cents/lb, while the November 2025 contract fell 4.5% to 284.15 cents/lb.

The arabica market continues to closely monitor the weather in Brazil. Despite the winter, the risk of frost is low. The weather in Brazil’s coffee growing regions is forecast to remain quite warm over the next 10 days. However, analysts are still closely monitoring the next developments, as this is an important stage of development for the coffee trees in the new crop.

In Indonesia, the robusta harvest has been affected by adverse weather. Heavy rains in many growing areas have reduced bean quality and slowed the harvest, raising concerns about a robusta shortage. Many traders said that exports of robusta from Indonesia are slowing, adding to the upward pressure on prices.

The current supply situation is expected to continue to support robusta prices in the short term, especially as demand from roasters remains strong. Some local reports indicate that Indonesia’s coffee output this season may fall short of expectations, adding to concerns about a supply shortage.
