Oil prices continue to fall, RON95-III gasoline increases by more than 200 VND/liter

The prices of two gasoline products increased from this afternoon (August 21), while oil products continued to decrease by more than 150 VND/liter and kg.

According to the document of the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil on the management of domestic gasoline and oil retail prices, from 3:00 p.m., the ceiling price of E5RON92 gasoline is 19,464 VND/liter, an increase of 110 VND/liter compared to the current price; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 20,092 VND/liter, an increase of 208 VND/liter compared to the current price.

However, diesel continued to decrease by 172 VND, down to 17,905 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 206 VND, down to 17,814 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 152 VND, down to 15,116 VND/kg.

Regarding the price stabilization fund, since the beginning of the year, the fund has remained unchanged with no deductions and no spending for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group ( Petrolimex ) said that up to the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,084 billion VND, unchanged from the most recent announcement.

Previously, (August 14), E5RON92 gasoline decreased by VND254/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND190/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND723/liter; kerosene decreased by VND640/liter and mazut oil decreased by VND379/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
