Northern pig price

The Northern region continues to maintain a stable state after slight increases at the beginning of the week. Specifically:

Bac Giang continues to be the locality with the highest price in the region, remaining at 69,000 VND/kg.

The group of provinces of Hanoi , Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Thai Binh maintained the level of 68,000 VND/kg.

Nam Dinh, Ha Nam , Ninh Binh and Ha Tinh are stable at 67,000 VND/kg.

Lao Cai and Yen Bai are the two localities with the lowest prices in the region, currently at 67,000 VND/kg.

The lack of further fluctuations shows that the North is in a stable trading phase, not under much pressure on supply and demand.

Pig price in Central Highlands

Similar to the North, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions today remained unchanged, maintained around the threshold of 69,000 - 73,000 VND/kg:

Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai remain at 69,000 VND/kg

Khanh Hoa and Binh Dinh continue to stabilize at 70,000 VND/kg

Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan recorded 72,000 VND/kg

Binh Thuan maintains price at 73,000 VND/kg

Dak Lak has no fluctuations, stable at 72,000 VND/kg

The whole region maintains old prices, with no signs of adjustment, reflecting relative stability in slaughter demand and market supply.

Southern pig price

The South continues to be the region with the highest pork prices in the country. On May 16, no locality adjusted prices compared to yesterday. Specifically:

Long An, Tien Giang and Ben Tre maintain their leading positions, with prices of VND 75,000/kg.

Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Soc Trang, Can Tho, Ca Mau, Tra Vinh and Bac Lieu maintain the price at 74,000 VND/kg.

Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Hau Giang, Kien Giang and Ba Ria - Vung Tau are stable at 73,000 VND/kg.

This is the area with the highest and most stable price level, reflecting strong consumption demand from purchasing sources, especially in the provinces bordering Ho Chi Minh City.

The fact that the price of live pigs remained unchanged nationwide today is a positive sign in the context of the market having just gone through many adjustment sessions. The prolonged “sideways” situation also shows that the supply and demand have gradually balanced, as farmers keep their goods waiting for prices, while traders buy sparingly.

It is forecasted that in the coming days, if there is no boost from the retail or export market, the price of live pigs will continue to stabilize, before a new increase may appear at the end of May - the time when consumer demand increases in preparation for the summer.
