Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan have prices of 73,000 VND/kg and 72,000 VND/kg respectively, higher than the common level but still lower than Lam Dong and Binh Thuan.

Provinces such as Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa and Binh Dinh all recorded prices of 69,000 VND/kg, the most common price.

Thanh Hoa, Nghe An (VND68,000/kg) and Ha Tinh (VND67,000/kg) are in the lower price group in the region, possibly due to weaker purchasing power or more abundant supply in these provinces.

Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau have prices of 74,000 VND/kg, lower than the above group but still at a high level compared to other regions in the country.

The South is currently the region with the highest pork price in the country, with prices ranging from 74,000 to 76,000 VND/kg, especially in the Southeast and the Mekong Delta provinces.

Experts say that pig prices are likely to increase slightly in some areas due to the market trend gradually recovering and increasing recently.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Giang province has issued a document requesting localities in the province to step up measures to prevent and control African swine fever, in order to protect livestock and minimize losses to farmers.

According to data from the Department of Animal Health, since the beginning of the year, African swine fever has appeared in 32 provinces and cities across the country, with a total of 6,810 pigs having to be destroyed due to infection.

The two neighboring provinces of Bac Giang, Lang Son and Quang Ninh, are still experiencing African swine fever for less than 21 days, increasing the risk of the disease entering Bac Giang through the transportation and trading of animals or animal products.

The current hot weather creates favorable conditions for pathogens to develop, while the vaccination rate against African swine fever for pigs in Bac Giang is still low, increasing the risk of an outbreak if there are no timely control measures.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to mobilize all resources to synchronously and effectively implement measures to prevent and control African swine fever, in order to minimize damage to the livestock industry.

Localities are required to coordinate with specialized agencies to receive vaccines and chemicals from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, organize large-scale vaccination for pigs, especially focusing on African swine fever vaccines for pigs.

Communes, wards and towns need to coordinate with authorities to closely monitor the slaughter, trading and transportation of animals and animal products, and strictly handle violations related to sick or dead pigs to prevent the spread of the disease.
