Thanks to that, the total pig herd in the country has recovered, the supply has become abundant, helping the market stabilize again.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, over the past 10 years, Vietnam's livestock industry has maintained a growth rate of 5.72%. The total pig herd in the country is currently maintained at more than 30 million, providing about 5 million tons of pork, placing Vietnam in 5th place in the world in terms of pig herd size and 6th in meat output. In addition, the poultry herd reached 559.4 million, of which waterfowl accounted for 102.7 million, ranking 2nd in the world after China.
