Analysis of factors affecting the pig market
According to experts, a number of factors, both macro and micro, will continue to have a major impact on the live pig market in the coming time:
Supply and demand situation: Summer food consumption may cause fluctuations in demand, while the ability of farms and businesses to rebuild their herds will directly affect upcoming pig production. In addition, African swine fever (ASF) remains a major risk that needs attention.
Production costs: Feed, veterinary medicine and labor prices continue to be key factors affecting input costs and leading to fluctuations in selling prices.
Import situation and border control: Strict control of pork and pork imports from abroad remains essential to protect the domestic market from adverse impacts.
Market psychology: Farmers' hesitation to sell, hoping for price increases, or, conversely, selling off when there are signs of price declines, both affect short-term price trends.
Recommendations from experts
For farmers, it is necessary to proactively update market information regularly, grasp the supply and demand situation in the area to make reasonable decisions about the time of selling. "Hoarding goods" for too long can damage the health of the pig herd and increase costs. At the same time, farmers need to strictly follow disease prevention measures.
For businesses and traders, it is advisable to develop a purchasing and distribution plan based on an assessment of supply, demand and prices in each region, in order to achieve optimal business efficiency.
The market is currently relatively stable. Consumers can choose the right time to shop, especially when there are discounts or promotions from supermarkets and retailers.
Overall, the hog market is expected to continue to have different adjustments across regions. Closely monitoring in-depth analysis and making timely decisions will help market participants achieve high efficiency.
Measures to prevent African swine fever in Quang Binh
In order to effectively control the epidemic and maintain stability for the pig herd, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province has issued instructions to drastically implement solutions to prevent and control African swine fever, according to information from Quang Binh Newspaper.
The directive requires units to closely coordinate with localities to monitor, inspect and seriously implement ASF prevention measures. When an epidemic occurs, it is necessary to promptly announce the epidemic and organize epidemic prevention in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, organizations, units and individuals need to be reminded and disciplined if they show subjectivity or lack of responsibility, especially when leaving all epidemic prevention work to the grassroots veterinary force.
Localities must organize vaccination against African swine fever for pigs at the right time, in the right process and in a uniform manner according to the instructions of local veterinary agencies. In addition, it is necessary to instruct farmers to increase hygiene and disinfect barns with lime powder and chemicals, and at the same time promote bio-safety farming.
At the same time, propaganda to raise public awareness about the danger of the epidemic, the risk of re-outbreak and preventive measures, especially encouraging vaccination as recommended by professional agencies, also needs to be promoted.
