Gia Lai: Unexpected rewards for 3 groups and individuals for their work against smuggling and trade fraud

(GLO)- On the morning of August 7, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province unexpectedly commended 1 collective and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in August 2025.

Accordingly, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Duong Minh Duc and leaders of the Provincial Market Management Department awarded certificates of merit to the Market Management Team No. 4 under the Provincial Market Management Department and 2 individuals: Mr. Nguyen Vu Bi - Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 4; Major Nguyen Manh Huu Dai - Officer of Team 4, Economic Police Department (Provincial Police).

The above mentioned groups and individuals discovered more than 4 tons of meat and pork fat with a foul smell and unknown origin on the afternoon of August 5. The above amount of food was hidden and preserved in freezers and cold storages at the house of Ms. NTT (born in 1980, in Tan Hoa residential group, An Nhon Nam ward) and the pork business location of QV Food Trading Company Limited (next to Ms. T.'s house) represented by Mr. NTQ (born in 1972).

This is the first achievement of the provincial Market Management force and the Economic Police force (Provincial Police) after the Provincial People's Committee established the Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Gia Lai province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Duong Minh Duc requested the provincial Market Management force to continue promoting the achieved results, constantly improving professional qualifications, sense of responsibility and public ethics, meeting increasingly high task requirements in the new period.

Currently, African swine fever is at risk of breaking out and spreading widely. Market management forces need to continue to strengthen market inspection and control, promptly prevent trading, transportation, and storage of food of unknown origin and unsafe.
