Attending the training were representatives of departments, branches, associations and a number of businesses in the province.
At the conference, lawyer Nguyen Van Duc - Deputy Head of the Legal Department of VCCI Ho Chi Minh City presented an overview of global trade protection trends; the process of trade defense investigations in major markets, as well as shared practical lessons from lawsuits against shrimp, steel, wood and energy batteries by Vietnamese enterprises.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kha - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - emphasized: "International economic integration opens up many export opportunities and attracts investment, but also puts businesses at increasing risk from trade defense measures such as anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, self-defense or anti-tax evasion. Proactively equipping businesses with knowledge and response skills is a key factor to help businesses protect their rights and develop sustainably."
According to Mr. Kha, as of August 2025, Vietnamese goods have faced nearly 300 trade defense cases investigated by other countries, of which more than 100 cases are still being maintained.
In that context, propaganda and training activities to help businesses clearly understand the process, obligations and rights when being investigated; at the same time, proactively coordinate with management agencies, industry associations and lawyers in the handling process is extremely necessary.
