Rice prices today, December 16th: Rice prices remain relatively stable, while fresh paddy prices have decreased slightly.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, December 16, 2025, remained relatively stable.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnam Rice, the current prices are as follows: Dai Thom 8 rice ranges from 8,900 to 9,100 VND/kg; IR 504 export rice ranges from 7,550 to 7,770 VND/kg; OM 5451 export rice ranges from 8,150 to 8,300 VND/kg; Soc Thom export rice ranges from 7,500 to 7,600 VND/kg; CL 555 export rice ranges from 7,340 to 7,450 VND/kg; OM 380 export rice ranges from 7,200 to 7,300 VND/kg; and OM 18 export rice ranges from 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg. Finished IR 504 rice prices fluctuated between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 7,400 to 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; and bran is priced at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.

Observations in various localities today show weak trading activity and little fluctuation in rice prices. In An Giang , rice supplies are low, the market is quiet, and rice prices remain stable.

In Lap Vo and Sa Dec ( Dong Thap province ), the supply is low, warehouses are still buying slowly, selecting only the best quality rice, and prices are relatively stable. In An Cu, Dong Thap province, transactions are minimal, and rice prices remain stable.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates between 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice fluctuates between 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates between 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 16,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates between 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of fresh OM 18 rice has decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,400 - 6,500 VND/kg; the price of fresh IR 50404 rice fluctuates between 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 5451 rice fluctuates between 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 34 rice fluctuates between 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; and the price of fresh Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; compared to the end of last week.

Observations in many localities today show weak new trading activity and little price fluctuation. In Ca Mau, ST and OM 18 rice prices decreased slightly, with buying activity remaining moderate. In Dong Thap, trading was quiet, with few traders inquiring about purchases, and prices remained relatively stable.

In An Giang, there were few new transactions, and traders tended to offer lower prices. In Ca Mau, ST 25 rice continued to be offered in good quantities, with stable prices. In Can Tho, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh, the remaining supply was limited, buyers were scarce, and prices showed little fluctuation.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of fragrant rice with 5% broken grains ranges from 420 - 440 USD/ton; 100% broken grains ranges from 314 - 318 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice ranges from 447 - 451 USD/ton.
