Rice price today May 29: Rice export price decreased

Rice prices today, May 29, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market volume is small, domestic rice of all kinds is relatively stable, fresh rice prices are stable, but some raw rice export items decreased slightly compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently raw rice 5451 decreased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating at 9,450 - 9,550 VND/kg; raw rice OM 380 decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,950 - 8,100 VND/kg; raw rice IR 504 fluctuated at 8,250 - 8,350 VND/kg; raw rice CL 555 fluctuated at 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; raw rice OM 18 fluctuated at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the prices of by-products fluctuate from 7,400 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice has decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; the price of bran fluctuates at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Recorded in localities today, the supply of 50404, OM 380 varieties is low, prices fluctuate little, warehouses ask to buy slowly. In An Giang , the supply is low, buying and selling transactions are quite regular, prices fluctuate little. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is small, prices of all types of rice are relatively stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), buying and selling transactions are still slow, prices are stable.

Sa Dec market canal ( Dong Thap ), the quantity is sporadic, the market warehouse buys regularly, all kinds of rice prices are stable. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), there is no rice, good rice is rare and easy to sell, the warehouse buys slowly, prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND14,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In many localities today, dry rice transactions are slow, while milled rice is selling slowly at a good price; the early summer-autumn rice source is slowly recovered, with little fluctuation in price. In An Giang, summer-autumn rice transactions are still slow, prices are stagnant. In Dong Thap, new purchasing power is slow, prices are stable.

In Kien Giang, the early summer-autumn rice harvest is low, new transactions are slow, and prices fluctuate little. In Tien Giang, buying and selling transactions are slow. In Long An, new rice transactions are quite slow, traders buy sparingly, and prices fluctuate little. In Can Tho, demand for new summer-autumn rice is still slow, and prices are stable.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices fluctuated slightly compared to the beginning of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 396 USD/ton (down 1 USD/ton); 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 325 USD/ton.
