According to experts, domestic pepper prices are still high, a clear sign that supply is gradually narrowing after the harvest.
Meanwhile, demand from major markets such as the Middle East and Europe is forecast to increase sharply in the second quarter of 2025, thereby creating additional pressure on supply. However, the domestic market is still quite cautious, weak purchasing power has prevented pepper prices from breaking through as expected.
It is forecasted that from now until the end of the year, supply and demand will continue to play a key role in regulating the market. In fact, the global pepper supply is still in short supply, which is a positive signal for pepper prices to recover in the medium and long term. However, as the domestic market remains sluggish and farmers continue to hoard their goods, prices will likely only fluctuate within a narrow range.

Meanwhile, Ptexim's latest report said that demand has improved in the EU, Asia and the US. Notably, the Chinese market has started buying again, although the quantity is not large.
Post-harvest shortages and recovering import demand from China, Europe and the US are factors supporting prices. However, competitive pressure is increasing as Vietnamese pepper faces high tariffs in the US in the first/second quarter, making Vietnamese goods less advantageous than those from Brazil and Indonesia.
