Gold, oil and USD prices at risk of falling together

The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor ended last week at $1,992.2 an ounce. The gold futures price was at $1,999.2 an ounce.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on November 3 was 24,084 VND per USD, down 15 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on November 5 was listed around 24,320-24,690 VND per USD (buy - sell).

The world USD price fell sharply last weekend. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies - ended last week at 105.07 points, down 0.99% compared to the previous session.

Today’s oil prices on November 6 on the world market are likely to continue to decline following last week’s decline. Last week, Brent and WTI oil prices both fell by more than 6%.

Oil prices fell for a second consecutive week last week as concerns about the risk of a wider conflict in Israel eased. However, oil prices are still forecast to rise.

In the domestic market, the retail prices of gasoline and oil today, November 6, are applied according to the prices at the afternoon management session of November 1 by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, gasoline prices are adjusted up, oil prices are reduced.
