World gold prices continue to fall today
At around 6:00 a.m. on June 20 (Vietnam time), the spot gold price on the world market was recorded at 3,365 USD/ounce, down 19 USD compared to the peak of the session (3,384 USD/ounce).
Gold prices fell today as the US observed abolition of slavery, putting the gold market at a disadvantage. Meanwhile, the Bank of England kept interest rates unchanged, while the Swiss National Bank cut interest rates. This shows the contrasting monetary policies of central banks, which has a certain impact on the price of precious metals.
Although the world gold price has increased by nearly 30% since the beginning of 2025, commodity analysts at Citigroup warned that this precious metal could fall below $3,000/ounce if geopolitical tensions cool down and the trade war is resolved.
In Vietnam, as of the end of June 19, the price of SJC gold was listed at 119.4 million VND/tael (selling), while the price of gold was at 116 million VND/tael.
