(NLDO) – After a cooling session, gold prices today increased again despite the USD still increasing in value and US bond interest rates remaining high.
World gold price today goes up again
At around 6:00 a.m. on December 25, the world spot gold price was at 2,619 USD/ounce, up 10 USD compared to the lowest price in last night's trading session of 2,609 USD/ounce.
Gold prices jumped today as markets began their Christmas break. Some bargain hunting activity took place. However, the strength of the US dollar and rising US bond yields limited many investors’ interest in gold.
George Milling-Stanley, an analyst at State Street Global Advisors, expects 2025 to be a record year for gold prices, as central banks’ need to increase their gold reserves to protect themselves from economic and geopolitical uncertainty remains a key driver in the market.
In Vietnam, the price of SJC gold at the end of December 24 was sold by banks at 84.3 million VND/tael. SJC Company sold gold rings at 84.1 million VND/tael.
