World gold price today November 28, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was at 2,635.56 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.26% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,672 VND), the world gold price is about 81.57 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is nearly 4 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices recovered on Tuesday from a more than one-week low hit in the previous session, helped by a weaker dollar, but pared earlier gains after data showed inflation progress stalled, hinting that the U.S. Federal Reserve may be cautious about further interest rate cuts.

US markets will be closed tomorrow for the Thanksgiving holiday.

US consumer spending rose sharply in October, but progress in reducing inflation appears to have stalled in recent months.

“ We think the small correction we’ve seen in metals is largely a response to the data, driven by rising personal incomes,” said Phillip Streible, chief market strategist at Blue Line Futures. “ If the consumer is stronger, even in the face of higher inflation, it suggests consumer resilience and the Federal Reserve may be more reluctant to continue cutting rates aggressively .”

The dollar index fell 0.8% to a two-week low, increasing the appeal of gold to holders of other currencies.

Streible said gold could hit $3,000 in the first two quarters of 2025 unless a spike in inflation forces the Fed to raise interest rates, which could derail the bull market. The market now sees a 70% chance of a 25 basis point rate cut in December. Non-yielding bullion tends to shine in a lower-interest-rate environment.

Bullion prices rose as much as 1% ahead of the PCE data. The rebound came after gold prices fell $100 on Monday, marking the biggest one-day drop in more than five months, as safe-haven demand fell following the announcement of a long-negotiated ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Prices fell to their lowest since November 18 in the previous session.

“ Given the current price action, gold prices could be more volatile in the run-up to Donald Trump’s inauguration and as the Middle East situation evolves ,” said Hamad Hussain, assistant climate and commodities economist at Capital Economics.

Spot silver rose 1.1% to $30.09 an ounce, platinum rose 0.1% to $928.17, and palladium fell 0.4% to $973.76.
