The enterprise listed the price of SJC gold bars at 97.1 million VND/tael (buy) - 100.1 million VND/tael (sell), down 1.7 million VND/tael (buy) and 1.2 million VND/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day.
The price of gold rings also went down. Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed it at VND97 million/tael (buy) - VND100 million/tael (sell), lower than the previous day's end by VND1.7 million/tael (buy) and VND1.2 million/tael (sell).
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited reduced the price to 97.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 100.5 million VND/tael (sell). The current price is the lowest since March 28. Thus, compared to the peak of 102.8 million VND/tael, the gold price "evaporated" by over 2 million VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices fell due to the impact of the international market. In the last trading session of the week, gold prices fell by nearly 80 USD/ounce, down to 3,038.8 USD/ounce when investors rushed to take profits after the gold price reached 3,140 USD/ounce.
Looking back at the domestic gold market, on the first day of the week, March 31, the price of gold bars increased by VND800,000/tael each way, to VND99.5 million/tael (buy) - VND101.8 million/tael (sell).
The next day, the gold price initially skyrocketed to a new record of VND99.9 million/tael (buy) - VND102.6 million/tael (sell) when the world gold price far exceeded the 3,100 USD/ounce mark, but by the end of the day it cooled down to VND99.4 million/tael (buy) - VND102.1 million/tael (sell), which was VND100,000/tael (buy) and VND300,000/tael (sell) higher than the end of the previous day.
By April 3, the gold price reached an all-time high of VND100.1 million/tael (buy) - VND102.8 million/tael (sell) in the context of the international precious metal price skyrocketing to USD3,145/ounce when the US imposed very high reciprocal tariffs on many countries and territories exporting goods to the US. By the end of the day, the gold price dropped to VND99.5 million/tael (buy) - VND102.2 million/tael (sell).
On April 4, the gold price decreased by 700,000 VND/tael (buying) and 900,000 VND/tael (selling), to 98.8 million VND/tael (buying) - 101.3 million VND/tael (selling) because the world gold price fell below the 3,100 USD/ounce mark.
The price of gold rings also fluctuates in the direction of increasing first and decreasing later. If at the end of the previous day, the common price of precious metals was 98.2-98.9 million VND/tael (buy) and 100.5-100.9 million VND/tael (sell), today it is at 97-97.5 million VND/tael (buy) and 100-100.5 million VND/tael (sell).
With the above developments, compared to last weekend, gold price decreased by 400,000-600,000 VND/tael.
