Gasoline prices decrease, RON 95-III close to 19,000 VND per liter

According to the adjustment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m. on May 8, the price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 410 VND, down to 19,170 VND/liter, and E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 380 VND, at 18,770 VND/liter.

Similarly, oil products also decreased by 550 - 660 VND/liter. Compared to May 5 - the most recent adjustment, diesel prices decreased by 550 VND, down to 16,800 VND/liter. Kerosene and fuel oil have new prices of 16,940 VND/liter and 15,530 VND/kg, respectively.

RON 95 gasoline price has now returned to the level of early April.

The operator said that fuel prices have recently fluctuated due to OPEC+ accelerating the increase in oil production, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. These factors have caused world oil prices to trend downward. On average, in the past 3 days (May 5-8), finished gasoline prices decreased by about 2.6%, oil prices decreased by 3.7 - 5.3%. Accordingly, the price of each barrel of RON 95 gasoline fell to 74.9 USD, diesel to 76.8 USD, and fuel to 405.2 USD/ton.

This year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade allocated a minimum of 29.5 million m3 of petroleum to key enterprises. This level is equivalent to 2.5 million m3 of petroleum per month.

In a report for questioning sent to the National Assembly , the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the supply of gasoline and oil is currently guaranteed. In the first quarter of the year, the whole country consumed about 6 million tons of gasoline and oil of all kinds. Meanwhile, the total source of gasoline and oil according to traders' reports is estimated at about 6.4 million tons.

The Ministry said it will continue to closely monitor developments in the domestic and world petroleum markets to find solutions to ensure market supply.
