Gasoline price today June 23, 2025 on the world market
Oil prices today, June 23, 2025, on the world market fluctuated strongly. According to Oilprice (7:00 a.m. Vietnam time), WTI oil prices increased by 2.79% to 75.90 USD/barrel, while Brent oil increased by 2.73% to 79.11 USD/barrel. However, by this morning, Brent prices decreased by 2.33% to 77.32 USD/barrel, while WTI decreased slightly by 0.46% to 74.04 USD/barrel.
WTI oil price: 75.90 USD/barrel (+2.79%).
Brent oil price: 79.11 USD/barrel (+2.73%).
The reason is that tensions in the Middle East have escalated after the US and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran on the morning of June 22, raising concerns about disruptions in oil supplies. Iran has threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, a route for transporting 20-25% of global oil. If this happens, oil prices could jump to $100 a barrel, according to experts from SEB and Panmure Liberum.
However, some say it will be difficult for Iran to maintain the blockade for a long time because it also depends on this route to export oil to China. Currently, the shipping routes through Hormuz are still open, but the market is still very sensitive to moves from Iran and the geopolitical situation. Oil prices are expected to continue to fluctuate strongly in the coming time.
