On the morning of April 25, gasoline prices increased slightly, Brent oil increased by 43 cents, equivalent to 0.7%, to 66.55 USD/barrel; WTI oil increased by 52 cents, equivalent to 0.8%, to 62.79 USD/barrel.
There are several factors supporting a slight increase in oil prices, including the cooling of the US-China tariff war as the US signaled a reduction in tariffs on China, which also helped to increase expectations of increased global crude oil demand.
According to Reuters, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) still maintains its view that there is no need to change monetary policy and is seeking more information to determine how trade tariffs are affecting the US economy . Meanwhile, the number of people filing for unemployment benefits in the US rose slightly last week, showing that the US labor market is not shaken, despite the economic situation due to tariffs on imported goods. These factors are supporting oil prices.
Domestic gasoline prices have just increased by nearly 800 VND/liter.
However, the weaker dollar, making USD-denominated commodities such as oil cheaper, has limited the rise in oil prices. So far, the average crude oil price traded on the market in April has decreased by nearly 9% compared to the same period last year, and crude oil prices are currently down by around 25%. In the coming time, OPEC+'s increase in production from May and possible further increases in the following months will make the supply more abundant. It is forecasted that world oil prices may maintain the level of 60 - 65 USD/barrel.
Domestically, gasoline prices have just been adjusted up simultaneously by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade since yesterday afternoon (April 24). The increase ranges from about 500 - 800 VND/liter.
After adjustment, on the morning of April 25, the retail prices of petroleum products on the market are as follows: E5 RON 92 gasoline is not more than 19,238 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline is not more than 19,638 VND/liter; diesel oil is not more than 17,524 VND/liter; kerosene is not more than 17,715 VND/liter; fuel oil is not more than 16,524 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 17 adjustments, including 7 increases, 7 decreases, and 3 opposite sessions./.
