
The monkey was discovered by tourists in an area about 1.5km from the InterContinental resort towards Ban Co peak.
Upon receiving the information, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches and the Management Board of Da Nang City Special-use Forests coordinated to remove the trap and rescue the monkey. After being rescued, the monkey was released back into the wild in stable health condition.
Previously, on September 30, Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son Forest Protection Department recorded an adult red-shanked douc langur rescued by local people from an animal trap. This individual was trapped in a cable trap, with an injured front leg.

The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches calls on residents and tourists to absolutely not set traps, hunt or illegally keep wild animals.
Any act of encroachment, hunting, selling or causing harm to wild animals is a violation of the law and will be strictly handled according to regulations.
When detecting traps, injured animals or suspected violations, residents and tourists need to immediately notify the authorities or contact the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches via hotline 0905.791.080 for timely reception and handling.
