The banking and finance industry in Vietnam is facing increasing challenges in safety and security, especially with the development of sophisticated fraud technologies such as deepfakes and silicon masks.
Faced with the urgent need to improve identity authentication standards, FPT eID, an electronic identity authentication solution developed by FPT, has achieved two leading international certifications in the field of biometrics.
ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2 certification related to facial biometric anti-spoofing technology (PAD) and ISO/IEC 19795-2 on facial comparison technology have been successfully passed by FPT eID.
The ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2 certification process requires FPT eID to pass hundreds of simulated attacks with a minimum detection accuracy of 99%. The ISO/IEC 19795-2 certification focuses on the accuracy of comparing two faces.
Achieving these certifications is of great strategic significance, especially as the State Bank prepares to apply Circular 50/2024/TT-NHNN from July 1.
The circular requires online customer identification systems to have anti-spoofing biometric capabilities from organizations belonging to the FIDO ( Federal Secure Online Authentication) alliance.
FPT eID achieving this prestigious certification brings great benefits to financial and banking institutions, helping to reduce fraud risks, increase reliability in customer authentication and protect people when making digital transactions.
