The tournament will take place at 6:30 a.m. on September 22 at 24/3 Square (Tam Ky City), organized by Quang Nam Newspaper, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Nam Provincial Labor Federation in coordination with many agencies and units.

Through the tournament, the province's sports movement is promoted to develop more and more widely among the people, the armed forces and students; at the same time, it creates a competitive atmosphere, enthusiastically practicing sports, improving health, serving labor, improving spiritual life among the people to continue promoting the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
The 26th Quang Nam Newspaper Traditional Cross Country Race was organized on a large scale, gathering a large number of participants and expanding to the Athletes' Delegations of the National Sports Training Center, provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
This year's competition has 122 delegations with 1,181 athletes from districts, towns and cities in the province; high schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, education and training departments, universities, colleges, vocational schools, armed forces, and departments of Quang Nam province.

This year's tournament has the participation of 10 delegations of athletes from provinces and sectors with strong sports movements nationwide, including: National Sports Training Center of Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Cao Bang , Quang Binh, Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Da Nang City and Quang Nam.
Notably, the competition for the national team of centers, provinces and cities in the women's 5,000 m and 10,000 m distances gathered many leading Vietnamese athletes such as athlete Pham Thi Hong Le, the National Athletics Team (Binh Dinh unit) won the gold medal in the 10,000 m race, silver medal in the 5,000 m race at the 31st SEA Games in 2022 held in Vietnam; 2 silver medals in the 10,000 m and 5,000 m races at the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 held in Cambodia.
At the tournament, the Organizing Committee will award 20 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, to poor and disadvantaged students with good academic performance at Tran Cao Van High School - Tam Ky City.
Athlete Le Thi Tuyet (National Athletics Team of the Da Nang National Sports Training Center) won a silver medal in the Marathon event at the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023; 2 gold medals in the 5,000m and 10,000m races at the 2023 National Youth Athletics Championship held in Da Nang City.
Athlete Thai Thi Kim Ngan (Dak Lak) won silver medal at the 2023 Da Nang International Marathon; Athlete Vo Xuan Vinh (Da Nang) won gold medal in the 20 km walk event at the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam.
Athlete Ha Van Nhat (Thanh Hoa unit) won a silver medal in Duathlon at the 9th National Sports Congress in 2022 (5km run, 20km bike ride and 2.5km run); Athlete Nguyen Chi Kien (Kon Tum unit) won a gold medal in the 1,500m run at the 2023 National Youth Athletics Championship; gold medal in the 1,500m run at the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City International Athletics Open.
